A Visit to CW Pencil Enterprise

I took a walk this morning to visit Caroline Weaver’s new store, the physical expression of the CW Pencil Enterprise website. I had heard about it and its opening from the Erasable podcast. Though I am not a committed pencil person, fountain pens are more my area of interest, the store is a must-visit for any sensible stationery fan in New York City.

Located on the east side of Forsyth Street, the small store has a large window facing west and the south end of Sara D. Roosevelt Park which filled it with light in the late morning. The shelves are stocked with varied and colorful pencils and pencil-related materials: erasers, sharpeners, pads, books, etc.

Caroline Weaver was helpful, informed, and contrary to any possible future plans, not the cranky keeper of pencils.

Check out the store, a great addition to the neighborhood, where you can see Caroline’s fine effort “to make sure that you can have any pencil your heart, hand, or collection desires.”[1]
